“God Winks”

Have you ever heard of a God Wink? It’s when something happens that most people would call a coincidence. I like to think of it as a God Wink. (There’s even books about people who share their’s, if you get a chance to read it). Today I woke up in not such a great mood, which as I said in earlier posts, has been happening quite often. I kept hearing the words to a Rascal Flatts song going through my head….”But I know something is coming I don’t know what it is But I know it’s amazing, you save me My time is coming And I’ll find my way out of this longest drought“. It’s from the song “Feels Like Today”. I finally got out of the house to go for a ride to the lake with my love, in hopes of feeling better and as soon as we got in the car, that song was on the radio! God winked at me and said “This is the day I have made, rejoice and be glad in it”. So I did.

Today’s title has a double meaning. I have been going through my own personal journey lately. I wont go into too many details, only to say I am dealing with an anxiety disorder. If anyone reading this understands what that is like then, great. Maybe you can sympathize or maybe you can get inspired by the little bit of inspiration I had today. I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself (again) and then I had a thought… “are you seriously gonna let the devil do this to you? He is ruining your life! Get up!” So I grabbed my iPod, turned on JOURNEY (heres where the second meaning comes in) jumped in the shower and put “Dont Stop Believing” on repeat. I dont know how many times I listened to it but it was a step. I am taking baby steps these days but its okay. I have to keep believing I’m gonna be okay. God is with me. I have turned to Him and he never gives us more than we can bear..although sometimes I wish he didnt trust me so much. ; )

“Faith, Love, Trust”

So I missed a few days due to internet issues. But it was probably for the best. Sometimes when you are going through issues, inspiration is hard to find. I admit it. It happens to everyone. Today hopefully is the start of better days. As I looked around my living room I saw these candle holders I received as a gift. FAITH: Giving it all to God. Putting it in his hands because its too big to handle alone. TRUST: That He will do what is best for you and bring you through. LOVE: He loves you. And if you are fortunate like me, you are surrounded by it, by people who love you unconditionally.

“Look out where you’re goin’, and don’t forget where you came from”

Today was about community spirit. I live in a very (I mean to tell you, very, very) small town. Yet today I was able to go to church and worship, spend time with family, go out out to eat and hear some great music without travelling more than a total of probably a mile and a half from home. This town, in it’s heyday (many many years ago) was the place to be. Back when travelling by train was the best option. This place was a stop to shop, find entertainment and visit a doctor. But when I was growing up, we only had a general store, a post office and a church. The church is still here along with the post office (for now) and the store closed. But three years ago this week, the store found new life and a restaurant was opened there inside of the red brick walls. I never dreamed I would travel down my street on the way home, passing car after car  and see a restaurant where people come from miles around to visit. Our little town has found a new livelyhood and I am so proud (and inspired of course) to live here.

“Ripple Effect”

“There’s a ripple effect in all that we do. What you do touches me, what I do touches you.”  I like this quote. Today I am inspired by a dear friend. A genuine friend. I truly believe that God brings people into your life for a reason. He knows who will benefit you the most and vice versa. My friend (those are her toes making the ripple effect in the pic..hence the quote) has laughed with me, cried with me (worked with me…how God brought us together) and today she shopped with me and talked with me. We are a lot alike. We have been through a lot of similiar problems and today she really helped me try to heal from something I am going through, that she has been through also. Thank God for such a dear friend!

Today I am inspired by the bracelets I bought for my daughter and myself from iamsecond.com. I Am Second is a movement that was started to inspire people to live for God. To put God and others first. In a world where so many people are trying to keep God out of everything, I was touched to see this. God at work. And people at work for God. The website features testamonies from athletes, musicians, celebrities and everyday people who express how God has changed their lives. Its very inspiring. Check it out!

“Longing to be where the sand meets the sea”

I love seashells. I love picking them up out of the sand. It’s amazing that God makes these beautiful pieces of “art” and the ocean just deposits them on the sand for us to enjoy. Only if they are empty of course and not inhabited by a sea creature ; ) They are just one more of the awesome things that God has created. My daughter once said “God make some beautiful stuff”. She was right. It’s all around us.
