“Just keep swimming…just keep swimming…just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.” I love this scene from Finding Nemo when Marlin is feeling down and Dory tells him when you’re down you just have to keep swimming. The song kind of gets stuck in your head and it has so much meaning. (I know, so much meaning in a little ditty from a kids movie?…why yes, of course!)
There are so many times in life when we just have to keep swimming, so to speak. We may feel like we are swimming against the current, facing “sharks” or are just out of breath but we still have to keep giving it our all and pull strength from the deepest part of ourselves and from God. I have had few moments this week when I have had to tell myself to just keep swimming. And I did. And it gets easier as I go. I have to keep on until God removes the “sharks”, slows down the current and gives me the ability to “swim” against anything that comes my way. There will always be obstacles but we can learn to navigate them a little easier with God’s help.
